- The Academy of American Poets was founded in 1934 to support American poets at all stages of their careers and to foster the appreciation of contemporary American poetry.
- Alliance for the Arts All Counties

Founded in 1976, the Alliance has a broad mandate to
promote New York’s cultural life through research and publications to increase the public's awareness of the arts. Our special role: advocating for a public/private partnership in support of the cultural community; publishing cultural guides; researching the economic impact of the arts; promoting arts education in the schools through guides and research; and serving individual artists.
The Alliance has five main constituencies:
- New York’s cultural community
- the general public in New York and tourists served by our cultural guides
- government and civic leaders who use and are influenced by our economic and other research
- children, parents and teachers using our arts education guides
- artists, curators and historians served by the Estate Project for Artists with AIDS - American Music Center All Counties
- The purpose of the American Music Center is to build a national community for new American music. The center accomplishes this by providing field-wide advocacy, promotion, and support for new music and the artists who create it. Among its many core programs and services, AMC offers an information service that responds to more than 35,000 inquiries annually, an online library and listening room for new music (www.newmusicjukebox.org), access to a 65,000-piece library of original scores and recordings, a Web magazine for new American music (www.newmusicbox.com), professional development workshops, a monthly listing of new music opportunities, networking groups for new music professionals, grants to artists and organizations, and other projects initiated in response to specific needs of the field. Currently, 34% of AMC's membership resides in New York State, while thousands of non-member New Yorkers benefit from the Center's services and attend performances facilitated by AMC programs.
- American Symphony Orchestra League All Counties
- The mission of the American Symphony Orchestra League is to provide leadership and service to American orchestras while communicating to the American public the value and importance of orchestras and the music they perform. Founded in 1942, the league serves more than 900 member symphony, chamber, youth, and university orchestras of all sizes, and supports a network of thousands of musicians, conductors, managers, board members, volunteers, staff members and business partners. Within New York State, the league currently provides service to 64 orchestras, 63 business members, 15 libraries, 11 non-profit organizations, 3 placement centers and 314 individual members.
- AMERINDA (American Indian Artists) All Counties
- American Indian Artists (AMERINDA) works to empower Native Americans, break down barriers, and foster intercultural understanding and appreciation of Native culture. Through a variety of arts programs, productions, and services to artists, AMERINDA supports Native artists who embody the traditional practices and values that define Native culture. AMERINDA also promotes the indigenous perspective in the arts to a wide audience through the creation of new works in contemporary art forms-visual, literary, performing, and media arts.
- Arts & Business Council of New York - a division of Americans for the Arts All Counties
- The Arts & Business Council stimulates partnerships between business and the arts that strengthen the arts and business environments in the communities they serve. We accomplish this mission with programs that promote voluntarism, build arts management capacity, gather and disseminate relevant information, and advocate for closer ties between business and the arts.
- Arts Engine All Counties
- Arts Engine's mission is to produce and foster the distribution of media that has artistic value and addresses issues and populations underrepresented in mainstream media. A major component of Arts Engine's activities is www.mediarights.org a Web site designed to link social issue film and video makers with nonprofit organizations and educational institutions across the United States.
- Association of Hispanic Arts All Counties
- Founded in 1975, the Association of Hispanic Arts' basic mission is to foster an appreciation and recognition of the contributions of the Latino arts to U.S. society, as well as to support Latino artists, through programs that: develop audiences and create new opportunities for the broadest possible exposure to Latino-created art forms and cultural expressions; help empower Latino arts organizations and individual artists to grow, develop and succeed in their respective disciplines. AHA's program areas include Audience Development, Information & On-line Services, and Technical Assistance.
- Association of Independent Video & Filmmakers All Counties
- Founded in 1975, the mission of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF) is to increase creative and professional opportunities for independent video and filmmakers and to enhance the growth of independent media by providing services, advocacy and information. AIVF has always supported the work of artists of color, community-based artists and students.
- Association of Teaching Artists All Counties
- The Association of Teaching Artists (ATA) is a membership organization of teaching artists from all disciplines across New York State. It is a nonprofit advocacy organization which brings together artists who teach in schools and in the community to educate, collaborate and communicate.
