A guide to the entire Hudson River Valley, from the Adirondacks to New York City
The year 2009 marks the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's exploration of New York Bay and the Hudson River in 1609, which led to the European settlement of New York.
The 2009 Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Commission is spearheading commemorative activities held by organizations in the regions Adirondacks, Capital-Saratoga, Catskills, Hudson Valley and New York City. These are found here in The Hudson Valley: A Cultural Guide, which springs from the similarly titled book published by the Alliance for the Arts with the Quantuck Lane Press, available in bookstores June 2009.
Welcome Statement from Joan Davidson, Chairperson of the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Commission (HFCQ)
Grab your boots, your bike, your child, parent, companion and head for New York State's hills!
In this special Quadricentennial year head also for New York State's valleys - and for the towns and villages and New York City itself, to participate in a feast of cultural offerings.
The Empire State has it all - as this handsome and brilliantly presented compendium attests.
Enjoy! and Excelsior.
