Home ›Boys Choir of Harlem
Founded in 1978 by Dr. Walter Turnbull, the Boys Choir of Harlem performs works from both the European and African-American choral traditions. The choir performs in New York at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden; tours internationally; and operates its own school, Choir Academy, where girls and boys pursue education along with their heavy touring schedules. The choir seeks enable students to transform their lives through music, build self-esteem, find positive role models for emulation, experience the rewards of creativity and develop a strong value system with the values of discipline and hard work at its core.
