Kids Creative seeks to foster confidence, creativity and conflict resolution in youngsters through arts education, particularly in music and theater. It was founded in 1998 when Stephen Jacobs started the Create-a-Play after-school program in a New York public school with 12 students. Since then Create-a-Play has grown to become an arts education and multi-media organization that produces original musicals, music videos and other artwork through a curriculum of after-school classes, summer camps and workshops. Create-a-Play is staffed by teacher-artists who have strong backgrounds in primary education and music.
