Albany Center Gallery Albany County
This regional gallery presents at least seven exhibitions a year, including the Mohawk Hudson Regional Invitational, and participates with performing arts organizations to present an Art in Education program.
Albany City Hall and Carillon Albany County
Designed by Henry Hobson Richardson, the graceful building that is Albany’s seat of local government was completed in 1883. In a room at the top of its 220-foot tower is the first municipal carillon in the United States, installed in 1926. Restored and enlarged during the city’s tricentennial in 1986, the concert-class, 49-bell instrument is played by guest and local performers at midday concerts during June and July.
Albany Civic Theater Albany County
Located in a former firehouse, this 126-seat community theater produces plays throughout the year, stages readings of new works, and puts on children’s performances and other special events.

Albany Institute of History & Art Albany County
The Albany Institute of History & Art collects and exhibits paintings, furniture, publications, ceramics and other materials that document the city’s influence on American history. In addition to ongoing installations of its permanent collection, the institute also hosts temporary exhibitions on themes such as Albany’s Scottish heritage and the history of 19th-century decorative arts.
Albany International Airport-Arts and Culture Program Albany County
Dating from its reopening after substantial renovations in 1998, the Albany airport has hosted a comprehensive and competitive exhibition program in its new terminal featuring the work of artists and museums in the Hudson Valley and national traveling exhibitions. Exhibits make use of an airport concourse, glass cases throughout the terminal, and a dedicated 2,500-square-foot gallery.
Albany Riverfront Park Albany County
An 800-seat amphitheater in this popular local park brings people to the river for concert series such as the Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival, Alive at Five, and the Father´s Day Pops Concert (see Festivals, below). An exhibit in the visitor center explains the Hudson River’s tides; there are also a bike trail and a boat launch.
Albany Symphony Orchestra Albany County
The Albany Symphony Orchestra presents performances of well-loved favorites alongside new or lesser-known works at venues in the capital region, including the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, the Palace Theatre in Albany and Canfield Casino in Saratoga Springs. In addition to evening concerts, the orchestra also organizes afternoon family concerts and classes for adults.
Capital Repertory Theatre Albany County
Developing new work and reviving the classics, this professional company performs 270 times a year at its space on North Pearl Street, and conducts educational programs, apprentice training for young professionals, discussion groups, and special events.
DanceFlurry Organization Albany County
Dedicated to "connecting and inspiring people through traditional music and dance," the DanceFlurry Organization (formerly Hudson-Mohawk Traditional Dance) presents contra, english, swing, family and other types of traditional dance throughout the Capital-Saratoga region. Each February, the Dance Flurry Festival weekend in Saratoga Springs attracts over 5,000 people of all ages to its diverse offering of dances, performances, workshops, jamming and crafts.
