Among many popular events, the annual Fence Show open to local artists is a regular draw in the capital region.

- An arts service organization in western New York, the Arts Council for Chautauqua County sponsors the Ripley Jazz Festival and organizes a community-based music instruction program offered though the Inifinity Performing Arts Program. The council also is home to the Palace Gallery, an exhibition space in which local artists display and sell their work.

- An arts service organization in largely rural Essex County, the arts council promotes art in the area through traveling exhibitions, an annual performance series, and Field, Forest and Stream Day, a fall arts festival that celebrates the hunt and harvest.
- Arts Council for Wyoming County Wyoming County
- For over 25 years, the Arts Council for Wyoming County, located in Perry, has promoted the arts through gallery exhibitions and film screenings in its South Main Street facilities while also supporting the area’s cultural events. The Council organizes a Folk Arts Program that encourages the documentation and display of regional crafts and sponsors the Letchworth Arts & Crafts Festival, now in its 30th year, every Columbus Day weekend.
- Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County Erie County
- The Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County, located in downtown Buffalo, promotes the arts industry, cultural tourism and arts education through a variety of programs. In addition to a gallery in which the work of local artists is displayed, the council holds a number of educational workshops and promotes the activities of the region’s artists and cultural organizations.
- Arts Council of Rockland Rockland County
- An arts service organization based in Spring Valley, the Arts Council of Rockland promotes and encourages the arts in Rockland County's diverse communities and strives to create a climate in which creative expression flourishes and is experienced by all. The council facilitates and coordinates programs, support services, publications and forums for the entire community in the interest of enhancing the cultural life of the county. Some of the council's services include grants for community-based arts projects, art education grants, professional development workshops, interactive Web site with forums for discussion, a bi-monthly newspaper of arts-related articles and opportunities, student scholarships and a senior visual artist exhibition.
- Arts Guild of Old Forge Herkimer County
- With workshops, gallery exhibitions and a performance program that includes concert, theater, dance, folk and children’s series, the Arts Guild of Old Forge is a multi-disciplinary arts center in Herkimer county.
- Arts of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS) Steuben County
- Based in downtown Corning, The ARTS holds exhibitions in its “Window on Market Street” storefront gallery featuring the work of local artists from Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben counties. The ARTS also funds a public art project that placed an outdoor installation called Daydream in Corning’s Gaffer District and a Folk Art Program that has featured the work of a local Polish-American Easter egg artist.
- ArtsWestchester Westchester County
- Located in the historic People’s National Bank & Trust building in downtown White Plains, the newly renovated Arts Exchange is home to the ArtsWestchester, the largest arts council in the State of New York. Since 1965, the ArtsWestchester has displayed the work of area artists and been an advocate for the local arts and business communities. The multi-use Arts Exchange features exhibition galleries, low-cost rental space for arts organizations and a Cultural Tourism Centre on the ground floor.
- Babylon Citizens' Council on the Arts Suffolk County
- An arts service organization founded in 1974, the Babylon Citizens' Council on the Arts provides arts classes, performances and festivals throughout the year to residents and visitors of Suffolk County on Long Island. Each August, the council organizes the Long Island Bluegrass Festival in Copiague's Tanner Park.
