- Made up of visual and performing artists and their supporters, this busy arts center in downtown Kingston hosts monthly exhibits in its two galleries and organizes theater performances, readings and off-site exhibitions. Special events include an Open Studio Tour each October and the Kingston Sculpture Biennial in odd-numbered years. The biennial displays numerous sculptures sited in public places around Kingston, thus giving the local community and visitors a chance to view art for free and at their leisure.

- Home to the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, the Hessel Museum of Art and the Center for Curatorial Studies galleries to name just a few, Bard College attracts audiences to its campus with numerous performances and exhibitions. With one of the more lovely and dramatic campuses on the Hudson River—a 500-acre estate of large old trees and views of the Catskills—this innovative teaching institution was founded in 1860 as an Episcopal college to prepare young men for the seminary. In the early part of the 20th century the college broadened its curriculum, and later it began admitting women. Today Bard is known for its graduate programs in the arts and music, its experiments in education and its inviting new buildings for the visual and performing arts. Opened in 2003, the Fisher Center is one of the Hudson Valley’s most prominent performing arts venues, notable for its dramatic design by the architect Frank Gehry.
- Bard College - Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts Dutchess County
- Designed by Frank Gehry and opened in 2003, the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts houses two theaters, the 900-seat Sosnoff Theater and the 200-seat Theater Two. During the academic school year, the center mounts productions for students and the Bard community. Every summer, Bard Summerscape/Jazz at Bard takes place. These well-respected programs in music, ballet, drama and film draw audiences of all ages from throughout the region. Each season offers an ambitious range of styles in which internationally respected artists perform works by major composers, dramatists, and choreographers, often highlighting works by a single artist in different genres.
- Bethel Woods Center for the Arts Sullivan County
- Located on the site of the historic 1969 Woodstock Festival in Sullivan County, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts features a copper-clad pavilion with seating for 4,800 and lawn seating for an additional 12,000 people on a slightly sloping hillside beyond. It hosts musicians of all kinds, from the New York Philharmonic, which opened the center in 2006, to Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker and other rock stars of the 1960s and later. An on-site museum uses film, photographs, text and artifacts to present the history of the Woodstock Festival and describe its ongoing influence.
- Center for Creative Education Ulster County
- Presenting arts education programs to diverse audiences of young people, the Center for Creative Education in Kingston is an arts education organization that instills cross-cultural understanding through a wide-ranging roster of programs at its Stone Ridge Center for the Arts. Past programs have included performances by the Percussion Orchestra of Kingston, a teenage ensemble, and the Hero’s Journey, an exploratory multi-disciplinary program for middle school students. The center also sponsors international artist exchange programs with Canada, Cuba, Haiti, Mexico and various European countries. Classes and performances are held in the Stone Ridge location.

- Housed in a renovated church in Homer, the center offers a vast array of cultural events throughout the year, including exhibitions displayed in the Borg-Warner Morse TEC Gallery, performances staged in Whiting Theater, and a broad array of lectures, art classes and workshops held on-site.

- A Latino arts-service organization in Montgomery county, Centro Civico of Amsterdam organizes the annual Cultural Arts Festival in addition to classes in dance and folk arts.
